Get ready, gamers! NCSOFT has just dropped a bombshell at G-Star 2025: a brand new MMORPG, Horizon Steel Frontiers, set in the breathtaking world of Horizon! This announcement promises to bring the thrill of hunting massive mechanical beasts to a whole new level, but with a massive multiplayer twist.
Developed in collaboration with Guerrilla, the studio behind the original Horizon games (and Killzone), this game is set to immerse players in the iconic Horizon universe. You'll be exploring the Deadlands, a land known for its dangerous machine hunters. The game aims to capture the essence of Horizon's action-packed gameplay while adding a whole new layer of depth with advanced MMORPG systems. Think highly customizable combat and a ton of player freedom.
But here's where it gets exciting: Horizon Steel Frontiers is designed to deliver a unique Horizon experience to players around the globe. NCSOFT is pulling out all the stops, and the official website is already live, showcasing the debut trailer and developer interviews. The trailer gives us a glimpse of the world, the mechanical creatures we'll be battling, and the epic-scale battles that await.
In the developer interview, Jan-Bart Van Beek, Studio Director and Art Director at Guerrilla, shared his excitement about working with NCSOFT. NC CEO & CCO Taekjin Kim and NC Executive Producer Sunggu Lee also chime in, offering insights into their vision for the game.
And this is the part most people miss... The game will be cross-platform, meaning you can play on both mobile and PC using NCSOFT's proprietary platform, PURPLE.
